Is Jason Whitlock right?

He says it's a shame that Texas did not retire the number of Clarissa Davis.  While he doesn't understand the division between men and women's athletics, it is a question that needs to be raised and I think he is right.

Many institutions have a policy that if an athlete wins player of the year their number goes into the rafters. Tyler Hansbrough will have his number added to the rafters with the likes of Micheal Jordan and James Worthy even though he has never won an NCAA title or even graduated from UNC. When you sweep the 6 national player of the year awards and are the first freshman to ever win the Naismith award you deserve to have your number retired.
