Like everybody else, I need to weigh in on this thing.
The blame goes not to the BCS, but to the Big 12. However evil the BCS may be, it is focused on selecting two teams at the end of the season to play for the national title. The BCS, as far as I know, has not expressed any interest in influencing the results on which their decision is based. That absurd situation has been created solely by the Big 12 brain trust, who have inroduced what amounts to a Heisenberg-like uncertainty principle to an already shaky formula, whereby the very computation of the formula alters its own input data in such a way as to determine its output. Go figure.
